The XXII Dance Internship of Aveiro is curated by choreographer Victor Hugo Pontes and will take place from 5th to 14th April 2017 at Teatro Aveirense. The XXII Dance Internship was organized by Teatro Aveirense in partnership with Nome Próprio.The internship is organized in two different moments: the first week will include intensive development sessions for dance students. The sessions will be delivered by renowned Portuguese dancers/choreographers who have recently collaborated with choreographer Victor Hugo Pontes;for the second week, Teatro Aveirense and Victor Hugo Pontes invited Yaniv Avraham to deliver a 5-day workshop of WORKSHOP GAGA for DANCERS. Yaniv Avraham is a Gaga Movement certified teacher and dancer at Batsheva Dance Company from 2003 to 2010. The WORKSHOP GAGA for DANCERS is directed at professional dancers or advanced dance students with ages above 16 years old. DEVELOPMENT SESSIONS FROM 5th TO 9th APRILBeginners (10 to 12 years old), Intermedium (13 to 15 years old) and Advanced (above 16 years old).The first week's program covers several dance styles such as classic dance, contemporary dance and b-boying, as well as a creative lab that will develop during the all week in close contact with the teachers. The first week will culminate in a public presentation of the final result of the development sessions and creative lab. The presentation will take place on 9th April, Sunday, at 5pm at Sala Principal in Teatro Aveirense.The structure of the internship will allow the participants to acquire different creative tools and techniques and to develop their artistic capacities and vocabulary.The participants will also have the opportunity to see the show Rendez-vous, choreographed by Victor Hugo Pontes and have a sense of the curator’s artistic vocabulary and creative approach.
